My love of the industry began when, on a whim, I enrolled into a Public Relations class the spring semester of my Junior year of college. Since then, I've had multiple opportunities to explore the world through a Public Relations and Social Media driven perspective in and outside of the classroom. 

 

Each experience has been rewarding, challenging, and has allowed me to discover my love of media. Feel free to explore my various projects and passions, and contact me if you would like to know more. 

 

Non-Profit Campaign

In my Public Relations class, we were given the opportunity to work with a local nonprofit organization to assist them with their public relations related efforts. 

 

I and two others students partnered with the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra to analyze Urban Overture, an event open to 20-and-30 somethings in the Fargo-Moorhead community.

 

Though it was a group effort, my focus was on their social media presence and giving infomation on conducting a survey. To explore our project, click on the photo gallery.

 

 

 

Duties with the FMSO

  • Conduct a SWOT analysis of the Urban Overture event

  • Provide the Symphony with samples of a press release, social media posts, and alternative options for adveristing and marketing

  • Survey the attendees of Urban Overture and analyze attendee needs and wants

  • Research simlar events and demographics to explore possible changes or additions to the Urban Overture program

 

 

 

Public Relations

Social Media

@lovePosterboard

Posterboard is a social media aggregation tool developed out of Fargo, ND. 

 

The tool pulls tweets affiliated with specific hashtags, keywords, and mentions into a comprehensive display. 

 

When I began my internship in December of 2015, I took over all content development and management for the @lovePosterboard account. My managing duties for the account ended in May of 2016 upon the completion of my internship.

Duties with @lovePosterboard

  • Write and publish social content 2-3 times per day, per week

  • Schedule posts in CoSchedule at least one week in advance to allow for approval

  • Utilize industry, product, and popular hashtags to expand tweet impressions and engagments

  • Use Hootsuite to track mentions and retweets

  • Interact with Twitter users by retweeting and replying to tweets related to Posterboard

  • Use the company voice and brand when writing content

  • Reply to Direct Messages to the @lovePosterboard account in a timely manner

  • Generate reports using Twitter and Google analytics to communicate the status of the @lovePosterboard account to the Posterboard team

 

 

 

Onsharp

Part of my role at Onsharp is managing the company's social accounts on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn

Duties with Onsharp

  • Write and publish social content related to Onsharp, digital media marketing, and the Public Relations industry

  • Use @OnsharpJazzy as a way to connect with potential @Onsharp clients

  • Meet monthly tweet and follower goals

  • Showcase the company culture and my experiences at Onsharp

  • Live-tweet company or industry related events

  • Use industry and company related hashtags in all or most of my social posts

  • Create shareable, creative content for all social platforms

Digital Marketing Intern Application Assessment 

During my application and interview processes prior to my hire at Onsharp, I was asked to create a content calendar to promote a social media tool. 

 

For the assessment, I promoted the launch of DSCO, an app created by VSCO, that allows users to create gif sets on their cell phones.

Assessment Guidelines

  • Create a content calendar focusing on the launch of a client's new social media tool 

  • Determine the frequency goals for social media promotion
